Rome and Lazio are the place of origin: of art, culture and of great Italian traditions, including of course that of food. It is a heritage which we still find today in the flavours of Italy’s finest cuisine, thanks to a perfect balance between respect for tradition and industrial processing. This begins with the traditional dish: pasta, the leading protagonist on the dinner table – once upon a time only in Italy, now throughout the world – which is often served with a simple tomato sauce. Olive oil is another feature of Mediterranean cooking: today it is so highly valued by connoisseurs and, at the same time, by dieticians because of its incomparable qualities of taste, lightness and healthy properties. Olive oil is the basic ingredient in countless Italian dishes, in the preparation of condiments as well as in meat and fish dishes, but also in conserving vegetables with their authentic flavours. Then there is milk and its products, including cheese. All of this is accompanied by Italian wine: among them, the “whites” find favour with those in search of a quality drink which well accompanies lighter dishes, from the antipasto to the dessert. And no Italian meal is complete without the famous coffee, toasted in Italian style and prepared with the classic espresso machines. An incomparable taste which marks out Italian style on tables throughout the world.
